OWASIS-NL

The lack of proper information on water availability is one of the most challenging obstacles for water management practices. To fight this challenge, OWASIS-NL uses space assets in two innovative water availability services that support effective water resource management in the Netherlands and South Africa.

AMMO

Status date: 23 March 2017

Ascend offers two distinct disruptive services that cover all types and sizes of airports, from the smallest to the largest ones. These services offer analysis of Earth Observation data for safety monitoring of the airport surroundings, and combine it with a cloud and browser based management system. Thereby the AMMO services are supporting the airport operators who are asked by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to comply with the regulation EU 139/2014 on aerodrome safety. 

SMART

Status date: 22 March 2017

SMART is a system that aims to provide a decision support service targeting the “early warning" of a disaster or critical event (specifically hydro-geological events) and to improve the "first response" intervention capability. The system has the advantage of strengthening the procedures used today by the Civil Protection to collect and manage the data "monitored" without interfering with the current practice.

STAR-FISH Feasibility Study

STAR-FISH is a management system which will automatically monitor and record fishing activity and fish discarding, in order to verify compliance with discarding regulations. The STAR-FISH service will consist:

  • A Remote Monitoring System (RMS) (hardware and software) installed on board vessels to monitor, record, identify and transmit fish discard data
  • On-shore software which monitors fishing and discarding data from vessels and can provide alerts to fishing regulators
  • Interfacing with databases/platforms to support fish sustainability and traceability statistics

STC

Space-Tech for Cycling investigates the technical feasibility and commercial viability of a bike-benefit model with associated GNSS-data analyses as a means to increase the modal share of cycling in cities. The approach rewards cycling by offering tempting benefits to the cyclists. The cyclists’ GNSS-track-data are further processed to offer a foundation for traffic planning projects, public health measures, and marketing and sales campaigns.

International Satellite Derived Shallow Water Bathymetry Service

A web-based service to provide immediate, off-the-shelf, online access to shallow water depth data derived from very high resolution satellite imagery.

SPOTTITT

Spottitt is the new brand name for the SEWISS service delivered by the project consortium. Spottitt has been conceived to support onshore wind developers, turbine manufacturers and energy providers with the complex, expensive and time consuming process of screening and selecting the most suitable greenfield sites for development, without the need for initial travel to sites of interest.

ArTeK

ArTeK aims at developing an innovative, effective and sustainable service offered to Properties managers to have a complete and systematically updated view and enhanced awareness of the state of conservation of immovable Cultural Properties and to support their management and fruition. ArTeK integrated service builds on space assets (earth observation, navigation and satellite communication) as well as additional technologies (drones, on site equipment, etc.) in relation to specific user needs.

SafeSki

The SafeSki Demonstration Project covers the pilot implementation of Safety and Information Services for Ski Resorts and succeeds the successfully completed SafeSki Feasibility Study. The SafeSki pilot-demonstration stage aims at increasing the safety and security on slopes, increasing customers and thus revenue, saving time regarding data acquisition and documentation and reducing personnel costs through optimization of internal processes.
